Jakarta, IO – Alphabet Inc.’s Google has yet to register as private digital service provider (PSE) as stipulated by the Communications and Information Ministry (Kominfo) a day after the registration deadline – July 20 – has passed.
According to Kompas, Google’s service that has been registered is Google Cloud Platform (GCP) region in Jakarta which is classified as domestic PSE. The registered company name is PT Google Cloud Indonesia which is engaged in the Information and Communication Technology sector.
Google’s other services such as YouTube, Gmail, GDrive are yet to be registered. In fact, based on Kominfo regulation, digital companies must register all their services per platform.
Kominfo spokesperson Dedy Permadi said there are at least six categories of private electronic service providers, either domestic or foreign, that must register with Kominfo. Some of these criteria include portals/sites/applications/networks that are used to provide, manage, operate the trade of goods and services, financial transaction services, communication services, and search engine services.
