Budisatrio Djiwandono, Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party
Jakarta, IO – Budisatrio Djiwandono, Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party, tied the knot with his old friend, Ludmila “Mila” Gunawan, on Friday, Dec 29, 2023.
“The blissful day I’ve been waiting for and dreaming of has finally come. I am grateful that I could complete the ijab-o-qabool process (Islamic marriage declaration) in front of my family and closest friends. Thank you for your prayers,” wrote Budi on his social media.
Budi’s uncle Prabowo Subianto also attended the marriage ceremony and sat as the marriage witness.
Budisatrio’s bride is a divorcee. Long after her divorce, she started a romantic relationship with Budi, her old best friend.
In one of Budi’s Instagram posts, he revealed that even though the two love birds only reconnected in 2020, they have been friends for 27 years.
In 2021, Budi posted a photo with Mila captioned, “A journey of friendship that started 25 years ago and has developed into something better. I am happy and grateful for the opportunity you have given me, from now on to the journey ahead.”
The wedding ceremony was grand and elegant. Budi wore a dark blue suit while Mila was clad in a white dress with a simple hairdo, yet her beauty and charm shone through.
Several public figures sent congratulations and best wishes to Budi on his Instagram post, including West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil.
Many celebrities also offered their congratulations, including actor and environmental activist Hamish Daud, who is also the husband of singer Raisa, via his account @hamishdw.
Comedian and politician Eko Patrio also commented via his Instagram account @ekopatriosuper.
Budi was born on Sep 25, 1981. He is the son of Bianti Djiwandono and Sudrajad Djiwandono. Bianti is the eldest sister of presidential candidate #2 Prabowo Subianto.
Budi started his primary education at Santa Theresia and continued to junior high school at Pelita Harapan. He then attended Berkshire High School in the United States. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Government and International Relations at Clark University, USA.

Before embarking on the world of politics, Budi was a businessman. He was the director and commissioner of various companies.
Budi is also known to be active in basketball. He was General Treasurer of the Central Committee of the All-Indonesian Basketball Association (2015-2016) and Secretary General of the Central Committee of the All-Indonesian Basketball Association (2016-2019). Most recently, he served as Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) FIBA World Cup 2023 Indonesia.
As a politician, Budi is loved by the public, not only because of his good looks but also because of his humble and down-to-earth nature. (rp)
