Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo tested the Greater Jakarta Light Rail Transit (LRT) and conveyed his impression of the public transport system expected to begin operation next year.

“Earlier I tried the LRT from Harjamukti to Taman Mini station, which spans 9km. It took 12 minutes at the speed of 80 km/hour. It is very fast and without driver,” Jokowi said, reported Detik on Monday (26/12).

Jokowi said he was proud of the project because it was produced by state-owned train manufacturer PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA). “Everything is made by INKA, including the driverless system,” said Jokowi, adding that he was impressed that the LRT is comfortable and relatively quiet.
