Jakarta – Hera Berliana’s collection called Gallery Namia, features a fashion design that brings the theme of Bumi Minang to Indonesia Fashion week, Wednesday, March 27, 2019.
“Where the Earth is stepped on, sky is upheld”
The story of Hera Berliana is a Minang woman. She is proud of Minang’s culture with a thick cultural tradition, a matrilineal system that elevates the degree of women in the family even in the community, friendly and clever to adapt. Do not miss the strong mentality of the nomads and the inherent soul of the entrant from the ancestors.
34 years of life in migrating does not make Hera forget about the cultural roots of Minang, and even becomes the basis of parents in educating them other than religious knowledge.
Many great and strong women were born from Bumi Minang, independent Minang women and were good at looking after themselves.
On that basis, Hera made a work that became the pride of Minang’s women. “Pandai Sikek is my Songket inspiration in the work, and my Pandai Sikek is made of a beautiful and elegant robe,” he explained.
Carrying the name Namia Gallery which was established 3 years ago, Hera was present this year, holding a Fashion Show with the theme “Bumi Minang” inspired by Songket Weaving Fabric craftsman Pandai Sikek (Tanah Datar Regent, South Sumatra), and applied to the modern Syari robe housed at the JCC Senayan.
