Jakarta, IO – The world’s largest travel site Tripadvisor announces winners of “Travelers’ Choice Best Nature Destinations.” It names Lombok Island in West Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as the fifth best because it has crystal-clear waterfalls and endless beautiful beaches.
According to the official Tripadvisor page, Friday (31/3), there are 25 of the best nature tourist destinations in the world and the first place is Mauritius in Africa. Meanwhile, Lombok managed to outrank Kauai, Hawaii, which ended up in the sixth place.
Tripadvisor said the it gathered travelers’ reviews and ratings of properties, businesses and destinations in Lombok over the past 12 months in addition to other criteria such as minimal accident records, sustainability, protection of endangered animals, etc.

The natural beauty of Lombok is considered to be main draw for tourists. The most popular places to visit include Gili Trawangan, Sindang Gile waterfall, Selong Belanak Beach and the habitat of green turtles and hawksbill turtles on Gili Meno. Visitors can enjoy a different atmosphere above the clouds by climbing the peak of Mount Rinjani with altitude of 3,726 meters above sea level. (bp)
