Jakarta, IO – The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Seoul confirmed that there were no Indonesian citizens who have died, disappeared or were evacuated due to the floods and landslides that hit many areas in South Korea.
“So far there is no information on any Indonesian citizens who have died, disappeared or been evacuated,” reads a statement published on the website of the Foreign Ministry (Kemlu), Monday (17/7).
In addition, KBRI Seoul also appealed to Indonesian citizens in South Korea to increase their vigilance. They were asked to continuously monitor the situation through media and official information from local authorities.
“Immediately contact the Indonesian Embassy’s hotline in Seoul if you experience an emergency situation,” it added. The hotline is 010-5394-2545.

Heavy rains have lashed South Korea for more than a week. This resulted in massive flooding and landslides in several areas including North Gyeongsang and South Jeolla.
As of Sunday (16/7), 35 people were reportedly dead, 10 declared missing and 7,866 evacuated from 13 cities. (un)
