IO – Pop star Katy Perry had fun at the expense of her fiancé Orlando Bloom by pretending to be an impersonator.
The actor, who was promoting his new series “Carnival Row” on BBC Radio One on Monday (September 02), was blown away as ‘Gemma from Hertfordshire’ phoned in to offer up her best Katy Perry impression – but Gemma was actually the pop star.
As Gemma, Katy sang a rendition of “I Kissed a Girl”, and Orlando confessed he was more than a little impressed.
“Gemma, that was great, really well done,” Bloom said as quoted by aceshowbiz, insisting that he’d know that wasn’t the real thing and adding, “It’s hard for me, because I live with that voice.”
Host Nick Grimshaw then revealed it was his real-life partner on the phone all along.
Katy pretended to be upset, stating, “I thought you knew me better.”
The couple are reportedly searching for a venue for their wedding. According to an anonymous source, one of the venues in consideration by the couple is the Ashford castle in Ireland.
“Katy and Orlando are looking for a place to get married: a gothic temple in Ireland,” said the source.
The couple are indeed serious about getting married and do not want a repeat of their past marriages. Katy was previously married to Russel Brand in 2010 and got divorced two years later, while Orlando married Miranda Kerr in 2010 and had a son, Flynn. Bloom and Kerr separated in 2013.
In an interview on Radio 2, Tuesday as quoted from Daily Mail, Bloom reminisced on how his proposal to Perry didn’t unfold as planned.
The actor, 42, revealed how his proposal didn’t go as smoothly as planned, as the box containing the engagement ring got stuck in his jacket pocket.
Discussing the mishap with Zoe Ball, he reminisced: ‘It wasn’t too bad, I just couldn’t get the ring out of my jacket… I had a premonition because I said to the guy who I bought the ring from.
‘He’s a friend and I said just make sure the ring box isn’t too big. He said it will be fine and I just knew it, it was too big clearly because I couldn’t get it out of my pocket.’
The lovebirds have been dating on and off since January 2016 after they were seen flirting with one another at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills. (rp)
