Jonatan Christie wins French Open

Jakarta, IO – Indonesian badminton player Jonatan “Jojo” Christie won the 2023 French Open after defeating Chinese player Li Shi Feng in the final match at the Glaz Arena, Paris, Sunday (29/10).

Jonathan appreciated the victory that quash fans’ doubts about his recent performance, per pbsi.id, Tuesday (30/10). “After the match concluded, I felt speechless,” said Jojo.

“In the last two to three tournaments, I didn’t play optimally and many people doubted me, but again, we never know God’s plan,” he added.

Jojo beat Feng with a score of 16-21, 21-15, and 21-14.  The new title he won delighted the Indonesian badminton scene. This achievement is Jojo’s third title during the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour 2023. Previously, he won the Indonesia Masters 2023 and Hong Kong Open 2023.

This is Jojo’s first French Open title. This earned him the reputation as Indonesian men’s singles badminton player with the most titles this year. (un)
