Jakarta, IO – President Joko Widodo instructed Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto to create a grand state defense and security design at Indonesia’s outlying regions during recent working visit to Southeast Maluku, Southwest Maluku, Aru Islands regency, Tual City, and Saumlaki.
“We see the need for a state defense and security design at the most appropriate locations,” said Jokowi, Katadata reported on Friday (16/9). This, he said, is necessary to bolster state defense.
Prabowo said the Defense Ministry has been working on the grand design for the past 2.5 years on the instruction from President Jokowi. One of the aspects, he revealed, is to secure Indonesia’s busy sea lanes.
