International marathon event offering Rp288m prize money to be held in Yogyakarta

Jakarta, IO – To celebrate the 267th anniversary of Yogyakarta City on October 7, Dyandra Promosindo and Raga Jiwa Mulia will hold an international marathon event titled The International Yogyakarta 42K (TIY42K) scheduled on October 8.

In the press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/7) Daswar Marpaung, president director of PT Dyandra Promosindo, said the event offer a total of Rp228 million in prize money.

He explained that this running event will be the first for Yogyakarta with a route in the city center.  The route will pass through landmarks such as Yogyakarta ground zero, Yogyakarta Monument, North Town Square and Keraton Palace, Fort Vredeburg, Malioboro and others.

“This event is held because we see Yogyakarta as the number two main tourist destination in Indonesia and the development of running events in Southeast Asian countries, especially running in the city which also introduces tourist attractions and promote UMKM in the city. Hopefully this will become an unforgettable experience,” said Daswar.

The target for the participants was 3,000 domestic and international participants, including amateurs and professionals.

“This event has been approved by the Yogyakarta Palace and welcomed by the Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI). So you can register at https:tiy42marathon.com. The target is sports fans, the running community, tourists who want to explore Yogyakarta by exercising and also the people of Yogyakarta who wish to raise the image of the city,” explained Daswar.
