Jakarta, IO – An elderly person identified as A (63) from Sumbawa was arrested for carrying 1,000 detonators at Kayangan Harbor, East Lombok. The grandfather admitted that all the detonators he brought were orders from a buyer identified as BA.
West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police spokesperson Arman Asmara Syarifuddin explained that A was arrested when the police conducted a security patrol for the MXGP Samota event. The perpetrator is said to be waiting to cross the strait with his motorcycle, per CNNIndonesia, Wednesday (5/7).
Based on the results of the investigation, Arman said that A was carrying a black backpack containing 10 cream-colored boxes, each box was filled with 100 detonator rods. When arrested, he admitted that he had made an arrangement to meet the buyer.

A also admitted that he still keeps around 840 detonators at his house and will sell them to fishermen using a point-of-sale system. According to him, he obtained the explosives from outside NTB and would sell them for Rp600,000 per piece. (bp)
