Indonesian Student Found Dead in Japan

Jakarta, IO – An Indonesian woman identified as JPC, 23, was found dead in an apartment in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, Tuesday (22/8).

Foreign Ministry’s director for Indonesian citizen protection Judha Nugraha said the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo is still waiting for the results of the autopsy and identification, per Bisnis, Thursday (24/8).

Local police found the body of an unknown woman in a two-story apartment room in Bunkyo at around 4:30 pm local time.

The victim, known to be an Indonesian student, was allegedly a tenant. During her life, she was said to be living in Ishikura-cho, Maebashi City.

JPC was presumed to have died for several days with no injury. The cause of her death is still unclear. Police are still investigating the case to find out whether there is foul play element. (un)
