Jakarta, IO – In the wake of Singapore’s refusal of entry for Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS), the social media accounts of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Halimah Yacob were invaded by angry Indonesian netizens who defended the renowned Muslim cleric/scholar.
Indonesian netizens vented their fury by commenting with hashtags #SaveUAS and #SaveUstadzAbdulSomad on Mr. Lee Hsien Loong and Mrs. Halimah Yacob’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, CNN Indonesia reported on Thursday (19/5).

Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) confirmed on Wednesday (18/5) that the accounts were attacked by netizens in defense of UAS, The Strait Times reported.
