Jakarta, IO – MNZ, 19, a student at University of Indonesia (UI) was found dead, his body wrapped in black plastic, in his boarding house in Beji, Depok, Friday (4/8).
Depok Metro Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit deputy head Nirwan Pohan said the victim was killed by AAB, 23, his senior from the same faculty. The perpetrator has been in custody, per Republika, Saturday (5/8).
Nirwan estimated the murder took place on Wednesday (2/8) evening. The body also had several stab wounds on the chest and hands.
“The body was hidden under the bed. There were multiple wounds of the same type on the chest and hands,” revealed Nirwan.

After being interrogated, AAB admitted to killing MNZ using a penknife. The police revealed the motive was because the perpetrator was jealous of the victim’s success. AAB is also said to be deep in debt. He needed money to pay the boarding house and repay the online loans he took.
“The suspect took the victim’s laptop and cellphone,” added Nirwan. (un)
