Jakarta, IO – To celebrate its 100th anniversary in February 2023, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia, will invite all religious leaders from around the world to Indonesia, said its chairman KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, also known as Gus Yahya.

“The Religion of Twenty (R20) event will serve a forum for dialogue among world’s religious leaders where views on strategic issues happening in the world today, especially related to religion, will be discussed,” said Gus Yahya during the press conference to kick off the commemoration of NU Centennial at the Grand Lagoon Hotel Sultan, Jakarta, Monday (20/6).

He explained that R20 is one of the nine main programs of the celebration and will be linked to the G20 in November 2022. “The government has agreed that R20 will be an additional series of activities at the upcoming G20. We will invite world religious leaders such as Pope Francis, Bishop Justin Welby, Patriarch Bortolomo, King Norodom Sihamoni and a number of other religious figures,” said Gus Yahya.
