Budi was proud that the work was acknowledged by the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Executive Director David Crocker, who saluted Indonesia for finishing the stadium in a quite short time. “The Government and the organizers have done an excellent job finishing the construction ahead of schedule. I am excited about this topping-off event. The credit goes to the management and the government for presenting this great project in a very short period of time. I am very excited that Indonesia is ready,” he said.
Budisatrio and the Central Board of the Indonesian Basketball Association (PP Perbasi) management have also reported the committee’s preparations to the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali last January 17.
“We came to see the Minister of Sports (Menpora) to convey a number of things. First, we come to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Indonesian government for supporting the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, which our basketball communities strongly anticipate,” he said.
“We also seek help to coordinate with the other ministries and institutions to ensure the success of the event. Basketball athletes from around the world – even those who play in the NBA will come to Jakarta. Therefore, we need to put our best into preparing for everything,” he concluded. (rp)
