Bandung inner city expressway to be resume after having been stalled for 17 years

Jakarta, IO – The Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono confirmed that it will continue construction of the Bandung Inner City Toll Road and Cileunyi-Tasikmalaya Toll Road which has been stalled for almost 17 years.

The construction aims to alleviate traffic jams in the West Java capital. The project will be implemented through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) scheme, per Katadata, Fri (1/3).

The ministry and West Java provincial administration also agreed to accelerate the development of a number of infrastructure projects in West Java, including the construction of the Cileunyi-Garut-Tasikmalaya (Cigatas) toll road for which the tender winner will be announced in July.

“We plan to get the construction started as soon as possible,” he said.

PUPR Ministry will also help repair the mining road in Parung Panjang, Bogor. In line with this, the provincial administration is also expected to increase its road construction budget.

“The budget will be much larger than in 2023. The proposed allocation is Rp1.2 trillion,” he added. (bp)
