Jakarta, IO – Bali Governor I Wayan Koster confirmed that Israeli contingent will not participate in the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games in August 2023.
Koster said this was based on an agreement between him, Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo, and Indonesian Olympic Committee (IOC) chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari, reported Kompas.
Regarding the possibility that Israeli players may register through the international committee without bearing their country’s name, Koster said he has yet to discussed it.
According to Dito, Israel will not take part in the games because no Israeli representatives attended the Chef de Mission (CdM) meeting on April 28-May 1.

“ANOC and the Olympic committee released the names of participating countries at the CdM meeting on April 28. I didn’t see Israel name there, so there won’t be any polemic,” Dito explained. (un)
