Indonesia beat Myanmar 5-0 in 2023 SEA Games

Jakarta, IO – Indonesian U-22 National Team nicknamed Garuda Muda won its second victory in Group A of the 2023 SEA Games football tournament. They won 5-0 over Myanmar.

Competing at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Thursday (4/5), Indonesia appeared dominant over Myanmar. Since the first round, Garuda Muda continued to pose threats after threats.

The first threat came from Ramadhan Sananta five minutes into the game. His header, using a crossing from the left side, caused the ball fly over the Myanmar goal post.

In the 7th minute, Myanmar got an opportunity through Oakkar Naing. With the ball in the penalty box, he was able to outwit Muhammad Ferrari, before kicking the ball into the goal. But Ernando Ari managed to make a save.

The first goal was created in the 19th minute by Marselino Ferdinand. Receiving a wild ball outside the penalty box, the KMSK Deinze player fired a half volley and sent the ball straight into the Myanmar goal. Indonesia led 1-0.

After the goal, Indonesia continued to give pressure. Opportunities abounded. Three minutes later, Indonesia had another chance to score. This time it was through Fajar Fathur Rahman, but his shot in front of goal was still puched by the Myanmar goalkeeper, Pyae Phyo Thu.
