Solo, IO – Alwannuha Fatah N., a student of the Structural Engineering Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, was awarded a 2nd place in the competition held by Universitas Bina Nusantara (Binus University) in December 2021, with the “IdFest Inspire #3” theme. Alwannuha explained that his interior design was based on an electric theme.

“This particular theme is rarely used in current designs. I wanted to present a legacy design, but one that followed current trends. This was also a design of my dream room; thus, I could express it deeply,” Alwannuha stated as quote from Uns.ac.id on Friday (14/1/2022).

He was inspired by western movies and social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest. Through his presentation, he succeeded in overcoming works from his competitors, hailing from various universities in Indonesia. Juries selected the best ten that went through an exhibition stage before the works were re-assessed to determine a winner.

“Very delighted to be a winner in the competition, considering that I am not an Interior Design or Architecture major, but I proved that (I could) win over my competitors,” Alwannuha said.

He hopes that he can continue working and creating while trying new things. “While young, use all failed attempts and reap success in the future,” he philosophized. (*/est)
