The first day of 2022 SIPA presented an opening performance of the Dance Mascot Rianto, featuring Semarak Candra Kirana Art Center. Garuda Taekwondo Demonstration Team, Pooja Bhatnagar Krisna Nartan from India, Excelsior Dance Project (EDP) Banua Hikayat Heritage Sasirangan from Banjarmasin, Handep Hapakat Pesta Kahanjak from Central Kalimantan, Bang Dance Company from Bali and Gondang Sumut Pelepah Nipah from Medan State University also enlivened the first day of the 2022 SIPA show.
Rianto was chosen as the icon of SIPA, as he is the symbol of contemporary art, with his works as the driving force of life change. Rianto is one of the Indonesian artists who has gone international by performing his dances in various parts of the world. He was one of the Indonesian dancers performing at the inauguration of President of the United States Barack Obama on Capitol Hill in 2009.
SIPA is counting upon directing and educating arts to teenagers and children through performances. SIPA is committed to presenting interesting art events. Rianto’s popularity in preserving arts and traditions is in line with the spirit of SIPA. Rianto’s figure deserves a place as a symbol of art and is respected at world festivals.
