The Deputy Secretary for Tourism Products and Event Organizers, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf RI), Edy Wardoyo, sees 2022 SIPA as an international art performance masterpiece, presenting numerous performances from various parts of the world. “This year, SIPA has officially become the cultural heritage of the country. An Effort of the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to improve the quality of organizing events in the regions. The 2022 SIPA is expected to form of long-term synergy in promoting Indonesia’s tourism and creative economy around the world,” he said.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) index released data showing that Indonesia placed the 32nd in the 2021 travel development index – such an extraordinary rise from a previous 44th position. Indonesia has defeated Thailand, which had been Indonesia’s tourism rival. “Thailand now ranks 36th, whereas Malaysia is in 38th. We thank God that Indonesia is in a better position. This achievement is expected to boost the spirit of creating qualified, sustainable and exclusive destinations,” he hoped.

The 2022 SIPA event is expected to revive the regional economy and serve as ways and means for cultural and tourism activists to innovate, collaborate and develop their art, to spur our economic recovery and the rise of creative tourism. “To recover the national economy, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy continues to create 1.1 million jobs by 2022 to help create 4.4 million jobs by 2024. We must come up with new strategies to adapt, innovate and collaborate. We have to implement our ‘3G’ concept of Gercep (to act quickly), Geber (to act together) and Gaspol (to grow the potential employment opportunities),” he exclaimed.
