Rianto, born on September 8, 1981, is a much-admired dance artist and choreographer with many awards; one of which was the first winner of the Yogyakarta Traditional Dance and Choreography Festival (2001). Rianto currently lives in Japan and founded a dance studio in 2016: Dewandaru Dance Company (DDC), in Tokyo.
To introduce dance at world festivals, Rianto returned to Indonesia and became the icon of the 2022 SIPA Festival and paraded the Indonesian traditional arts on the global scene.
Apart from the national artists, foreign art delegates from 10 other countries also enlivened the 2022 SIPA stage: Spain, Turkey, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Brazil, France and Japan also took part in the event. (des)
