Jakarta, IO – The city of Solo is ranked third as the destination with the most affordable accommodation in the Asia Pacific according to Agoda survey in April. This position also makes the Central Java city the most affordable destination in Indonesia.
Agoda is a global booking site that conducts analysis to reveal affordable tourist destinations. In Indonesia, Solo is a destination where tourists can enjoy room rates at the most competitive prices, averaging Rp555,000, reported Detik, Friday (12/5).
Trailing Solo are Surabaya (Rp570,000), Semarang (Rp615,000), Yogyakarta (Rp660,000) and Medan (Rp675,000).
Meanwhile, in the Asia Pacific region, the digital travel platform also named Khon Kaen in Thailand (Rp450,000) and Sibu in Malaysia (Rp510,000).
Even though these destinations have the lowest prices, they have many interesting attractions, from historical sites, beautiful beaches, fun amusement parks to a variety of unique cuisines.

Agoda’s Indonesia Country Director Gede Gunawan hopes the rating can give tourists more choices, especially for budget travellers. “With increasing cost of living in various parts of the world, people are trying to be more prudent in spending their hard-earned money,” said Gede.
“I hope Agoda’s findings can help tourists find interesting destinations while saving money.” (un)
