Jakarta, IO – Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) really offers various places to enjoy the afternoon and unwind, whether visitors choose the stadium, the walking and running pathway, the arenas, or even the city forest right outside the stadium pathway.

Amidst Jakarta’s hustle and bustle, city residents can spend their afternoons in the green open space of the GBK city forest. Here, visitors can sit back and relax while enjoying the majestic skyscrapers and city lights around the area. The air of the city forest can get quite cool, providing a serene ambiance, quite contrary to the congested Sudirman Street outside the area. The city forests are indeed a decent escape for residents or even for commuters, taking a break from their mundane routines.

You may find people engaging in various activities around the area of the GBK city forest. Some can be seen sitting and relaxing on the grass, taking selfies and group photos, playing with their children, or merely reading books under the shade of lush green trees.

This year, the Department of Parks and City Forests (Distamhut) of the Jakarta Provincial Government plans to build three more “city forests” in different locations: one in South Jakarta and two in East Jakarta.

City forests with their urban trees provide numerous benefits for residents, such as relaxing and reducing stress and cleaning and cooling the air. Now, let’s set a schedule to roam around or have a picnic at GBK city forest!
