Jakarta, IO – Sidoarjo regent Ahmad Muhdlor Ali was detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) after he was questioned by the anti-graft agency on Tuesday (7/5). He was named a suspect in the alleged corruption involving the regency’s tax office.
KPK deputy chairman Johanis Tanak explained that this detention was carried out after the discovery of evidence in the form of Rp2.7 billion worth of ill-gotten funds. Ahmad will be detained for 20 days at the KPK detention center.

He was summoned for questioning on April 19, and then on May 3, but he failed to appear on the pretext he was undergoing treatment at the Sidoarjo Regency Hospital.
