Rp78T corruption suspect SD quizzed by AGO

Jakarta, IO – Surya Darmadi (SD), owner of PT Duta Palma oil palm plantation alleged of corruption that causes Rp78 trillion in state loss was questioned by the Attorney General’s Office on Thursday (18/8).

He arrived at AGO building at 10:34 WIB wearing a detainee jacket. He is being detained at AGO’s detention center in Salemba, Central Jakarta.

According to his attorney Juniver Girsang, SD was feeling unwell and exhausted after a long flight from Taiwan.

“In the past three days, my client has been feeling unwell. We hope he is fit enough today to undergo the legal proceedings,” he said, as reported by CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (18/8).

“One day before he was about to depart for Indonesia, he received a medical note from the doctor that he should be treated. I am proud of my client. He said he is committed to come home. He wants his case to be examined quickly,” he explained.

SD will be quizzed by AGO’s junior attorney for special crimes (Jampidsus). According to Juniver, there has yet been any investigation or summon from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). (rr)
