IO, Jakarta – The Great Indonesia Movement (Gerakan Indonesia Raya – “Gerindra”) party has briefed 78 of its cadres who were elected as members of the House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat – “DPR”) for the 2019-2024 term at Hambalang Hills, Bogor, West Java. These Gerindra Party People’s Representatives will undergo training and upgrading sessions there for four days (24-27 September). They will be sleeping in the tents and barracks provided for them and be given a set of both indoor and field materials to perform. All of them will be treated equally, with absolutely no differentiation.

Fary Djemy Francis, Chairman of Gerindra’s Central Leadership Council (Dewan Pimpinan Pusat – “DPP”) in Finances and Monetary Affairs who serve as the head of the event’s organizers, stated that Gerindra’s General Chairman Prabowo Subianto will directly provide the training. “Mr. Prabowo will be giving out messages and advice in order to ensure that the elected members of the House to remain loyal to the people’s mandate at all times, and to remain loyal to Pancasila and the Constitution of 45, as well to the outlines of the Party’s struggles,” he said at the start of the event on Tuesday (24/09/2019).

Fary stated that the main purpose of the training and upgrading is to unify the House member cadres’ vision and mission, and to build up solidarity among them. They will work with each other for the next 5 years, and they need to cooperate and build up their togetherness, unity, and familial bonds. The training is also expected to get cadres to understand the vision, mission, and values in the struggle of Gerindra Party perfectly. This will guide them clearly and firmly when making decisions. “Gerindra hopes that with the training and upgrading, DPR RI members from Gerindra Faction in the 2019-2024 term will be physically and mentally ready for their duties as the eyes, ears, and mouths of the Indonesian people,” he said.

In addition to Prabowo, a number of experts from several fields will also be involved in the training. Fary stated that the skills of these Elected House Members are being upgraded, so that they can perform their duties and functions properly, whether in terms of monitoring, legislation, or budgeting. “Mr. Prabowo always stated that Gerindra Party cadres fighting in the parliament are not mere politicians. They are political warriors who must be tough, loyal, reliable, and persistent. They are more than just the Party’s mouthpieces: they are the front line and living advertisements for our Party,” he said. (Dan)
