IO – Marquez Brothers: Marc Marquez, and Alex Marquez are in the same team, Repsol Honda, in the MotoGP race in 2020. Marc, the older brother, six times MotoGP World Champion, declares that he will not give any help to his younger brother, Alex, during a race.
“At home, as a brother, I will give tons of advice to make him better, but on the circuit, he is an opponent who must be defeated,” Marc said at the Repsol Lubricant Show at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 5.
Marc considered Alex’s chances of becoming a champion are still far and away. “Champion in the rookie year is not impossible, but it will be
very hard. In MotoGP you will learn many things. Falling because of stu- pid mistakes – that even I still do. He needs to learn a lot to be better from race to race.”
Marc Marques is never satis ed. He remains hungry for the title. “Last season’s results were out- standing, but this year we have to be faster and more competitive,” he added.
“Maintaining the title is indeed very stressful, but I love the challenge because it keeps me striving to be the best,” said Marc.
“I will try to win the title again but it requires hard work. I will try to win and enjoy every race.”
Marc assesses the tough competition will come from other racers. “Maverick Viñales, Fabio Quartararo, Andrea Dovizioso and Alex Rins will be very fast and try hard to become champions,” he said.
Alex, his younger brother, said he was happy to join a team with his brother in the Repsol Honda Team. “I am happy, but at the same time I am required to be responsible and try to perform my best in every race,” said Alex, a two-time Moto2 champion.
Alex will ght to become the best rookie and reach the best position he can get. Alex will see the results of the rst race at Qatar’s Losail Circuit to determine his target for the 2020 racing season. (rp)
