Jakarta builds first underground pedestrian crossing in Indonesia

Jakarta, IO – Jakarta is the first city in Indonesia to build an underground pedestrian walkway which will be linked to Dukuh Atas MRT Station-UOB Thamrin Nine Building.

“The construction is estimated to be completed in 18 months, next year,” said Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as reported by Antara, Thursday (7/7).

He explained that this development is the second-level of integration between stations and the surrounding buildings.

The first-level of integration is intermodal public transportation integration, namely how the MRT is connected to Transjakarta, public transportation, and trains. Currently, there are nine first-level integrated stations.
