IO, Tangerang – IKEA Indonesia in cooperation with the Tangerang City Government announced its commitment by delivering staple food packages to 1,500 households in the region. This is a form of IKEA’s commitment to the fight against COVID-19 together with the Tangerang City Government.
The COVID-19 pandemic has become a challenge for the Indonesian people which has an impact on almost all aspects of people’s lives. One of the affected aspects is the welfare of people. The condition spurred IKEA to participate with the government against the COVID-19 pandemic. The collaboration between the government and the business sector, in which IKEA took part, is one of the efforts that has proven effective in the fight against COVID-19.
On the occasion, IKEA handed over symbolically assistance to the people of Tangerang through the Mayor of Tangerang, H.Arief Rachadiono Wismansyah, BSc., M.Kes. Hadrianus Wahyu Trikusumo as Director of PT Hero Supermarket Tbk explained that the COVID-19 pandemic was a difficult time for many people which encouraged IKEA to present the IKEA Cares program. “IKEA has a goal of creating a better everyday life for many people. IKEA Care is one of the concrete forms together with the Government to realize the IKEA goals,” Hadrianus explained.
“We hope the IKEA Cares program can help reduce the burden on people affected by COVID-19, while supporting the local government in creating a better life, especially for those around the IKEA operational location,” he added. Furthermore, Hadrianus explained “IKEA together with the Tangerang City Government supports the local community in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Hopefully, the IKEA Cares program can foster enthusiasm for all levels of society in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. Always follow direction and health protocols set by the government.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, all IKEA stores have followed health protocols established by the local government, so customers can shop comfortably and IKEA co-workers can also carry out their duties safely.
