Hundreds of Overstaying Foreign Nationals Deported from Bali over Illegal Work

Jakarta, IO – A total of 198 foreign nationals were deported from Bali in the first half of 2023. Bali Law and Human Rights Agency noted that the number was far higher than 2022.

The agency’s head Anggiat Napitupulu revealed that last year the agency deported 188 foreign nationals, per CNNIndonesia, Monday (7/8).

Anggiat said the deportees were mostly Russians, Americans and Britons. The most common immigration violations were overstay and the use of visa type that is not in accordance with its purpose. Many of them had also worked illegally, explained Anggiat. (un)
