Jakarta, IO – National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Ahmad Ramadhan said the repatriation of the 240 victims began yesterday, Thursday (25/5) and will be conducted in several phases.
“The repatriation will be carried out according to predetermined schedule and will start on Thursday 25 May 2023,” Ramadhan said, reported Kumparan, Friday (26/4).
Ramadhan explained that the repatriation will be assisted by the Bureau of Immigration of the Philippines. However, there were two Indonesian citizens who could not be sent home because they have to serve their sentences.
Previously, the National Police and the Philippines National Police (PNP) conducted joint operation to bust an international crime syndicate in the Philippines that managed to scam thousands of people, mostly Chinese, Filipino and Indonesian by offering them high-paying jobs.
