Hijrah Groceries: a collaboration of Muamalat Bank and WIR Group

Jakarta, IO – Collaborating with PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk, WIR Group (PT WIR ASIA Tbk), a leading immersive technology and web3 company in Southeast Asia focusing on augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain, through its subsidiary Mindstores, launched Hijrah Groceries, the quick commerce service that will allow more than half a million active users of the Muamalat DIN mobile banking app to shop on the Alfamart network. 

Hijrah Groceries was officially launched on March 6, 2024, at Muamalat Tower, Jakarta, and was attended by the President Director of Bank Muamalat Indra Falatehan, Director of Operations and Digital Bank Muamalat Wahyu Avianto, Chief Executive Officer of Mindstores Adian Adhitama Bachtiar, President Director of the Marketing Services Agency for Cooperatives and SMEs (SMESCO) Leonard Theosabrata, Assistant Deputy for SME Financing and Investment Temmy Satya Permana, and Virtual Store General Manager of Alfamart Viendra Primadia. 

The President and Director of Bank Muamalat, Indra Falatehan, stated that Hijrah Groceries would greatly facilitate customers meeting their daily needs and sharing with other people during the holy month of Ramadan. Customers can simply order their needs through Muamalat DIN and have the items delivered by couriers from the nearest Alfamart. 

“For this service, we prioritize the value of AMANAH, which stands for safe (AMan), fast delivery (ANtar Cepat), and easy (MudAH). Bank Muamalat believes that Hijrah Groceries would become a reliable service for customers of Bank Muamalat and the Indonesian people in general,” he said. 

Indra added that Bank Muamalat has now entered the super app era by presenting various features and services available on Muamalat DIN to meet the customers’ needs of in the current digital era. 

Chief Executive Officer of Mindstores, Adian Adhitama Bachtiar, expressed his excitement at presenting Hijrah Groceries to support consumers’ developing needs and preferences in Indonesia. The strategic partnership between WIR Group and Bank Muamalat aims to provide easy and secure access to high-quality halal products to consumers. 

“We believe that our collaboration with Bank Muamalat will enable us to deliver significant added value to the community while strengthening our stance as pioneers in innovative technology service providers,” he said.

Integrating the latest logistics technology and customer service allows Hijrah Groceries to provide fast and reliable delivery with a diverse range of products, including staple food and beverage products, beauty products, bathing supplies, medicines, and household utensils. 

The quick commerce service is increasingly popular in Indonesia. Data and business intelligence platform Global Statista shows that Indonesia is experiencing an early stage of “quick commerce”, with an expected growing market that is predicted to reach an annual revenue figure of US$3.6 billion by 2027. 

More than 16 million Indonesians are quick commerce users, with a projected growth of 24 million by 2027. Integrated advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and robotics have also transformed the landscape of quick commerce, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of the overall delivery process.
