IO – The Great Indonesia Movement (Gerakan Indonesia Raya – “Gerindra”) Party was awarded a Public Information Transparency Award by the Central Information Commission (Komisi Information Pusat – “KIP”) as the Most Informative Public Institution in the Political Party Category.
The award was bestowed directly by KIP’s Commissioner in Institutions, Cecep Suryadi, who was accompanied by KIP’s Commissioner in Regulations and Public Policies, M. Syahyan, to Ahmad Muzani, General Secretary of Gerindra Party’s Central Leadership Board (Dewan Pimpinan Pusat – “DPP”), as the Party’s representative. Murzani was accompanied by Sugiono, Gerindra Party Vice General Chairman; Danang Wicaksana Sulistya, Chairman of Gerindra Party DPP’s Information and Data Management Official (Pejabat Pengelola Informasi dan Data – “PPID”), and Prasetyo Hadi, Gerindra Party DPP’s Chairman in Organization, Cadre Recruitment and Training, Membership, and Electoral Efforts. Also present at the awarding were Himmatul Aliyah, member of the Republic of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Republik Indonesia – “DPR RI”) from the Gerindra Party Faction and Satrio Dimas Adityo, Secretary of Gerindra Party DPP PPID, as well.

Gerindra Party stresses its commitment to information transparency, as well as implementing the mandate of Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Transparency, by establishing an Information and Data Management Official (PPID) structure within its DPP. The PPID was established by Gerindra Party DPP Decree Number 06-0094/Kpts/DPP Gerindra Party/2017, with members Danang Wicaksana Sulistya (Chairman), Satrio Dimas Adityo (Secretary), Siti Rahma Dewi (Treasurer), along with others.
Gerindra Party DPP PPID’s duty is to prepare, provide, and distribute relevant and topical data as seen as important for the people. The PPID continues to upgrade its array of services, as well as its repository of data and information, through constantly updating the Party’s website as well as its offline or helpdesk office. Members of the PPID are committed to provide and prioritizes professional, prompt and free information services.
The PPID accesses information services through the Gerindra POSS (PPID One Stop Service) in its quest for information transparency. The POSS makes it easier for average citizens to learn about Gerindra, to understand more thoroughly the services provided by the PPID, and how to retrieve the information that they need. POSS Gerindra’s services include e-PPID, WhatsApp Online Chat, and the POSS Hotline. Consequently, those seeking information can submit and monitor their request without leaving their homes. This is also an effort to adapt to the new normal during the COVID-19 pandemic. To complement the online service, the PPID helpdesk continues its operation with due concern for strict health protocols.
The diligent efforts of PPID members and its innovations are undoubtedly a principal reason why the KIP announced Gerindra Party as the Most Informative Public Institution in the Political Party Category for the fifth time on 25 November 2020. Representatives of the PPID emphasize how they continue to innovate, and are committed to establish and maintain the Party’s accountability and information transparency as a public responsibility.
Cecep Suryadi further stated that the KIP continued to perform its monitoring and evaluation of some 348 public institutions all over Indonesia throughout 2020. KIP divided these into seven categories, one being political parties. In this category, only three parties were confirmed as “informative”. Therefore, KIP appreciates Gerindra Party’s efforts and hopes that it can stand as a role model for other public institutions in the future. KIP further expresses its hope that Gerindra will sustain this achievement, maintaining public information transparency in this digital era, stricken by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gerindra Party General Secretary Ahmad Muzani expressed his appreciation to all members of DPR RI, Regional House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah – “DPRD”) at Regency/Municipal level, and all other members of the Party for their continuous support. He went on to reveal Gerindra Party’s finances in 2020: 76% from internal sources, 14% from the State Budget and the remainder from the people. Therefore, the Party continues maintains transparency of its budget, in order to justify the trust granted to it properly and accountably.
“The award bestowed to us by KIP today is the result of our consistency, the proof that the fees paid to us are managed competently. Therefore, Gerindra Party continues to ask the people for their support, to prevent us from becoming arrogant or condescending, and to correct any weaknesses. I, Ahmad Muzani, do not forget to express my greatest gratitude and appreciation to the PAC, branches, DPC, DPD, and all members of the Gerindra Party DPP; to members of Regency/Municipal DPRD, members of Provincial DPRD, and members of the DPR RI from the Gerindra Party Faction throughout Indonesia who have supported us so far,” Muzani said.
