Jakarta, IO – AEG Presents Asia, PK Entertainment, and Sound Rhythm – all Ed Sheeran concert promoters in Indonesia – announce the relocation of the 2024 + – = ÷ x Tour (pronounced “The Mathematics Tour”) in Jakarta. Originally scheduled to take place on March 2, 2024, at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), it’s now been relocated to Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
This decision was made through careful consideration, to prioritize the Indonesia National Football Team vs. Vietnam match scheduled for March 21, 2024, at GBK. Relocating the concert to JIS will also allow spectators to have a superior concert experience, including the iconic 360-degree stage sensation, as the global standard for Ed Sheeran’s 2024 + – = ÷ x Tour.
“We understand the significance of the Indonesia National Team’s football match, especially with Indonesia as the host. Our support corresponds to the Government’s promotion of national sports. We are also convinced that JIS, Indonesia’s largest international football stadium, will deliver an amazing experience for Ed Sheeran fans. “Our team is currently working closely with JIS to ensure a smooth and enjoyable concert experience,” said Harry Sudarma, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of PK Entertainment.
The promoters continue to coordinate with JIS and numerous partners to ensure the concert runs smoothly and comfortably, including providing more parking spots, shuttle buses at various pickup and drop-off locations, and motorbike ride-hailing services.
Meanwhile, Rakhmadi A. Kusumo, CEO of GBK, has been coordinating with event organizers regarding the planned events at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, which has been designated as the site for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifications match between the Indonesian National Team and Vietnam.
“We need to exert special efforts to keep the venue in top condition. Therefore, we regrettably had to inform PK Entertainment that the 2024 Ed Sheeran Tour at GBK cannot take place here. We appreciate PK Entertainment’s and all other parties’ support and understanding, as we are committed to be the Public Service Agency (BLU) and the GBK Complex Management is mainly to assist national sports successes.
As the venue provider, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) expresses its full support for all organizers to hold both sporting and non-sporting events at JIS. “International music concerts at JIS will not affect the ongoing stadium’s turf amelioration. Jakpro guarantees that the turf will remain in excellent condition for the scheduled sporting events at JIS. We constantly coordinate with related stakeholders for JIS to provide a positive contribution to any events taking place here”, commented Adi Adnyana SH, MM, Jakpro Director of Business & Operations.

This Mathematics Asian tour series marks Sheeran’s first concert since his last appearance here in 2019. Ed Sheeran has broken the all-time attendance record, including at SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, and MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey. That was reported to have been his biggest US show to date.
Ed Sheeran has released two albums this year, “-” (pronounced “Subtract”) and “Autumn Variations”, with both topping the global number one ranking. Released in May and September, Ed Sheeran’s albums were produced in collaboration with The National’s Aaron Dessner. (des/ ast)
