Jakarta, IO – Cyber security expert Pratama Persadha revealed data questioning the claim by Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan that 110 million people wish the 2024 elections to be postponed.

Pratama asked Luhut to explain the process on how and where the data was taken so to not cause public controversies.

“Technically, there are many ways to map public discourse on social media or other internet platforms. Therefore, we need to ask Pak Luhut where he got his 110 million data from and what methodology was used. The public needs to be informed so we can assess its veracity and have an open discussion,” said Pratama on Wednesday (13/4).

He gave Twitter as an example. While there are around 15 million active Twitter users in Indonesia, there are also many anonymous accounts. “So, it is impossible for the 110 million data to come from Twitter.”
