68 Indonesian, international art galleries to participate in Art Jakarta 2023

Jakarta, IO – Art Jakarta is holding its second international contemporary art week. After the outdoor edition in February at Forest City by Plataran, Senayan, this time it is held indoor at JIExpo Kemayoran.

According to the official statement received by Independent Observer, Tuesday (31/10), Art Jakarta at JIExpo Kemayoran will be held for three days from November 17-19.

The second edition will present a larger exhibition that includes more exhibitors with a total of 68 galleries, 40 of which are from Indonesia and 28 foreign galleries from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, China, Japan, Russia and Australia, each of which will display their artists’ latest works.

Art Jakarta Fair director Tom Tandio is optimistic that the second edition will exceed visitors’ expectations. In addition, he revealed that collectors from abroad would also attend in larger numbers.

“Considering that these months are the fourth quarter, the season is more favorable than our previous schedule in the hotter months,” said Tom.

It features five programs, namely GALLERY, consisting of 40 galleries from Indonesia and 28 foreign galleries.

SPOT, a platform for special presentations in the form of art installations that have been specially adapted for this art week. PLAY by UOB Indonesia, specifically designed to provide a play area for children.

SCENE, a special segment for artist collectives and non-profits to raise funds. AJ TALK, a platform for experts, observers, artists, collectors and curators, to converse and share experiences and knowledge with visitors.
