Kalya Mahiya Pravina never stops creating works of art. This 13-year-old teenager started her work as a designer through Tangerang Modest Fashion Week 2023, which took place on July 15, 2023, at the Teraskota Entertainment Center, Serpong, South Tangerang.
The 2023 Tangerang Modest Fashion Week held NAWASENA, The Magic of Modest Fashion of 2023, which was attended by dozens of Indonesian and Malaysian designers.
On this occasion, Kalya and her Praveena brand collaborated with Dewi Damayanti.
The Independent Observer spoke with Kalya following her fashion show, where she talked about her six looks displayed at the 2023 Tangerang Modest Fashion Week.
“I named these six looks as True Love, as true love does not only depict happiness in pink but also in black, as black symbolizes sadness that often relates to love,” said Kalya, a grade 9 student from SMP Al-Izhar Pondok Labu, Jakarta.
Kalya went on to say that the dominant colors in the six looks were pink, white, gray, and black, “The six looks incorporate Baduy literature and ecoprints.” Kalya explained that her line of fashion aims at Millennials, with choices of blouses, dresses and culottes.
