Jakarta, IO – The ROUND Festival 2023, which was held on October 21–22, 2023, in Jakarta, was a star-studded festival. On the first day, 8,000 spectators turned up to watch their international idols coming from various ASEAN countries and Korea, including Gerhana Skacinta of Malaysia, Dila Aisyah and the Boys of Brunei Darussalam, ONE PEACE BAND of Cambodia, SGO and Se So Neon of Korea, Velocity X Jewel of Myanmar, SB19 of the Philippines, and Barasuara and Isyana Sarasvati of Indonesia.

Brimming with energy, Gerhana Skacinta kicked off the festival, presenting ska music with a 1950s flair. When the band played “Asmara,” the audience waved banners with the band’s name to show support.

Dila Aisyah and The Boys kept the excitement going with their signature music blend of pop, rock, and jazz. Comprising three vocalists, the trio displayed a seamless harmony fused into three different music genres.

Cambodia’s ONE PEACE BAND took the stage while dressing up like a royal prince and a queen. Next, Velocity X Jewel performed elegantly dressed in all-black apparel.

The crowd was cheering and anticipating SB19’s performance. The audience was waiting for the band to play their TikTok popular song, “Gento,” when the dancers left a remarkable impression.

Barasuara took the stage as the night approached and was the first Indonesian musician to appear on the festival stage. The song “Bahas Bahasa,” received a remarkable response from the spectators, with the audience singing loudly to Barasuara’s distinctive song.

With a style resembling Barasuara’s music, Se So Neon glided into the performance with an electric guitar as the highlight of his performance. The audience sang along to “Kidd” enthusiastically while raising their hands in the air.

The first day of the ROUND Festival 2023 concluded with a stunning performance by Isyana Sarasvati, clad entirely in red from her hair to the stage set. Sarasvati’s song “Tetap Dalam Jiwa” somehow sparked a hint of nostalgia as the song played in a new and different arrangement. Isyana Sarasvati surprisingly brought So Yoon of Se So Neon back on stage for a duet in her song “My Mystery.” (des/ast)
