President Jokowi meets with Czech PM, here’s what they discuss

Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo held a meeting with Czech PM Petr Fiala who arrived at the Bogor Palace at around 4.10 pm WIB, according to official statement from the Cabinet Secretariat, Tuesday (18/4).

Jokowi greeted Fiala and proceeded with tree-planting activity. They then held bilateral meeting. Jokowi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Deputy Trade Minister Jerry Sambuaga, and Indonesian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Kenssy D. Ekaningsih along with a number of Czech delegates.

Fiala’s official visit was a follow-up to the bilateral meeting held with Jokowi in Brussels, Belgium on December 14, 2022.

During the meeting, they discussed several cooperation agreements in the fields of economy, defense and strategic industry, as well as issues in the Indo-Pacific region.

Jokowi expressed the importance of accelerating the completion of the Indonesia-EU CEPA Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA) and the realization of Czech investment plans in Indonesia.

Jokowi also appreciated Czech participation in Indo Defense 2022 exhibition while conveying the importance of increasing strategic defense and industry cooperation through joint production, technology transfer and investment in manufacturing sector.

In addition, he also invited the Czech Republic to participate in the ASEAN Indo-Pacific Infrastructure Forum (AIPIF) scheduled to be held in Indonesia on September 6-7. (rr)
