IO, Jakarta – A warm reception at both the residence of PDIP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri and at the PDIP V Congress in Bali, entices Gerindra Chairman Prabowo to extend the courtesy to President Soekarno’s first daughter. As a result, Gerindra has extended an invitation Megawati to the opening of the Gerindra Rakernas (National Meeting) which will be held on September 21, 2019 at Hambalang, Bogor, West Java.
Concerning the invitation, Gerindra Central Board (DPP) Deputy Secretary-General Andre Roasiade stated that the invitation was not part of an exploratory step in joining the Jokowi-KH Ma’ruf Amin administration. “We invite Megawati to attend the opening of the Gerindra Party Rakernas not as part of an attempt to join the coalition,” he said.
According to him, the invitation was only to show political friendship, so that politics would be friendly, calm, and cool. Andre stated that Gerindra Party’s invitation to Megawati was part of a continuation of their political relations which had already taken place and as such must be maintained. “Meetings and friendship between national figures are good and we must continue to support it,” he said.
Not only Megawati, Gerindra also invited all political party chairpersons joined in the Indonesia Just Prosperous and Jokowi-Amin coalition. “The Gerindra Party Rakernas will invite Megawati and other party leadership. And we might also invite parties outside coalitions which have supported Prabowo-Sandi,” he asserted. (Dan)
