Jakarta, IO – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto invites all Indonesian armed forces (TNI) elements to strengthen the esprit de corps (fighting spirit) in the military organization not only as a form of responsibility to the state, but also to remember the sacrifices of past heroes and predecessors of the TNI.
This was conveyed by Prabowo during the celebration of TNI’s 77th anniversary at the Defense Ministry on Tuesday (4/10). The celebration was held after the Twilight Parade Ceremony led by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“We gathered at the flag lowering ceremony in order to celebrate the anniversary of TNI. The aim is to retie esprit de corps and our pride as part of TNI, to remember our commanders and seniors who are no longer with us, and to pay tribute to the sacrifices of our predecessors,” said Prabowo on Wednesday (5/10).
Prabowo also reminded that TNI belongs to the people. According to him, the struggle of TNI is not easy, so the values must be passed on. “It also reminds us that we are the people’s army, that our struggle is not easy, and to pass on the values we cherish to the young generation, the nation’s successors, the cadets,” he said.
