Tengger, IO – The 2022 Indonesian Photographers’ National Jamboree (Jambore Nasional Fotografer Indonesia 2022 – “JNFI 2022”), one of the biggest photographic events in Indonesia, will be Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park on 26- 28 August 2022. Here, they will meet fellow photographers and exchange experiences and tricks, while learning from Indonesia’s prominent photographic experts from various specialties.
With the target attraction of 1,000 photographers from all over Indonesia, JNFI 2022 is meant to spur Indonesia to revive through photography. Their works are expected to serve as the first step in getting our people to Recover Together, Recover Stronger (“Pulih Bersama dan Pulih Lebih Kuat”).
As a tourism and natural conservation site that Indonesia is rightly proud of, Bromo is selected for the upcoming JNFI 2022. It is no surprise, as it is rich both natural and cultural diversity and beauty. The 2022 Indonesian Photographers’ National Jamboree is a collective effort initiated by the Indonesian Photography Foundation, supported by the Great Office of the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, CONSINA, Printmate, Hewlett-Packard, Tamron, and the Tengger local tribal community.
JNFI intensively involves the Tengger community, other local communities, and the local businesses – two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicle rental providers, horse riding service providers, as well as accommodation and culinary service providers around the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru region in this event. These local communities and businesses are expected to provide guidance, services, and experiences for JNFI 2022 participants, who are in turn will inform the public about the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru region, its people, and its services.

Amid the significant impacts of the pandemic, JNFI 2022 represents an effort to revive and develop the potentials of natural conservation, tourism, and creative economy in our homeland. It utilizes the current trend of “image reading”, which is a reliance on effective visuals to support a narrative.
