Indonesian Students Excel at International Robotics Competitions

Jakarta, IO – 18 Indonesian teams competed with nearly 200 teams from a number of countries in the World Greenmech 2023 competition in Taiwan, Thursday (3/8). The teams consisted of schools that excelled at national robotic contests, per Okezone, Friday (4/8).

The international robotics competition consists of four types of events: Greenmech Junior and Junior Programmer for elementary level, Greenmech and R4M (Robot for Mission), an innovative robot operation involving human-made machines, for elementary, junior high and high school levels.

The high school teams delivered surprise by winning gold (by SMA Sutomo 1 Medan), silver (by SMAK 5 Penabur) and bronze (by Jakarta Taipei School) in the R4M category.

Ali Thomas, a teacher from SMA Sutomo School, said the achievements made by the Indonesian teams were the result of collaboration, serious training and team cohesiveness.

“They were able to meet and even exceed the expectations of the Indonesian people to be able to demonstrate their skills at the international level,” said Ali.

Indonesia has participated in the World Greenmech four times. In every competition, Indonesia has always made achievements. (un)
