Tangerang, IO – A number of workers are making pineapple cakes in Larangan Utara, Tangerang City, Banten (4/4).
As Eid al-Fitr (Lebaran) approaches, the dry cake industry in the area is starting to be flooded with orders from various regions. One of the owners of the pastry industry, Sri, said that production during Ramadan and Eid this year has gone up compared to last year. “I am readying the order for 1,700 jars to be sent before the holidays start,” she said.
Workers are busy making pastries in the yard and inside the house. Each of them has specific role, from molding the dough, glazing, baking to packaging. The pastries made here also vary, from pineapple cakes, chocolate chips, snow princesses and cheese kastengel which are sold between Rp28,000 and Rp130,000.

The home industry situated on Jalan Gaji Unus, Gang Merpati 1, RT 005/RW 001, Larangan district is nicknamed Nastar Village. On average, one house in this village can produce more than 1,000 jars of pineapple cake from individual and corporate customers.
