Jakarta, IO –  They will apply to products ranging from toys to cosmetics to stem the influx of imported goods from China.

Coordinating Economic Ministry secretary Susiwijono Moegiarso explained that China is currently targeting the Asian market as its main import destination, per Detikcom, Saturday (14/10).

According to him, this was due to the trade war between China and the US which made it difficult for imported Chinese goods to enter the US and the EU markets.

“(China) is looking for a market so the direction is definitely towards Asia, especially Indonesia, our market is big,” he said.

Susiwijono admitted that the government has received many complaints from MSME actors with regard to the “invasion” of imported goods in traditional and digital marketplaces. He said the government is considering a policy to tighten import regulations.
