In the same breath, Industry Ministry’s Textile, Leather and Footwear Industry Director Adie Rochmanto Pandiangan revealed that the TPT and footwear industries are experiencing contraction due to economic stagnation and inflation in the main export destinations.
To overcome this, Adie said the ministry is taking a number of measures, one being expanding the export markets by accelerating the implementation of Indonesia and European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA).

In addition, the ministry is coordinating with the Coordinating Economic Ministry to tackle illegal imports by strengthening supervision, especially in smaller ports of entry. (un)
