Aldila Sutjiadi, Indonesian tennis player wins Thailand Open 2024

Jakarta, IO – Indonesian athlete has made another proud achievement. Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sutjiadi successfully won the Thailand Open 2024 women’s doubles title with athlete from Japan, Miyu Kato, in Hua Hin, Sunday (4/2).

The duo defeated the Chinese women’s doubles, Jiang Xinyu/Hanyu Guo, 6-4, 1-6 and 10-7 in the final match. Aldila said she was happy to be able to elevate Indonesia’s global reputation, per CNN Indonesia, Mon (5/2).

“I am very happy to be able to win the title here. Today’s match was very intense, but we continue to fight and support each other,” said Aldila. “Thank you to Miyu, the coaching team and all those who have supported us.”

Aldila Sutjiadi was born in Jakarta on May 2, 1995. Now 28, she started playing tennis five years ago and kickstarted her professional career when she was just 15 years old.

For decades, Aldila has made many amazing achievements, including at the National Games (PON) 2012 in Riau. She sweept the gold medals for women’s singles, women’s doubles and team events.

Aldila is also good at playing in a team. Together with the Indonesian national team, Aldila successfully won the 2018 Asian Games gold medal and five SEA Games gold medals.

As of February 5, 2024, Aldila is ranked 29th in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour world rankings. Recently, she often pairs with Miyu Kato (Japan), Erin Routliffe (New Zealand), and Astra Sharma (Australia). (un)
