Central Bangka, IO – General Secretary of Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani called for all Gerindra cadres, both in the Parliament and the Executive, to uphold the people’s sacred trust.
Regardless of one’s position, his main objective should be the welfare of Indonesian people. Positions, appointments and ranks are nothing but instruments to achieve the goals of the people, the nation and the state. “Therefore, we should never shift from that goal. We arise from the people, fight alongside them, and the destination of our endeavor is for them. The General Chairman of Gerindra Mr. Prabowo has consistently reminded us that the strength of our struggle is people’s support. Never avoid them, let alone betray them,” remarked Muzani, while attending the Gerindra Party Bangka Belitung (Babel) DPD Coordination Meeting, Saturday (28/8). He reminded all that the victory in the 2019 general election is an actualization of people’s trust.
Muzani, concurrently the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), advised the Gerindra Babel DPD Chairman, who also holds the post of Governor, and other Regional Representatives Council (DPRD) members, to harness their positions for the benefit of Babel people. This means Gerindra as a political party has successfully developed leaders who act in good conscience and provide remedies for the adversities faced by Babel communities.
When that is accomplished, Muzani added, Gerindra’s contribution to society would be monumental. Thus, Gerindra will strive unfailingly to produce leaders in the legislature and executive, oriented in the best interests of the nation and the state. “That’s why all of us want the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the General Chairman of Gerindra Mr. Prabowo to run as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election, because we want to serve more significantly in the government executive positions for the benefit of the nation and the state: justice and prosperity for the Indonesian people,” he explained.
On this occasion, Muzani advised Gerindra cadres to pursue reinforcement, starting from the village to the central level.
He also mentioned that the fight in this era is through social media. Being able to accomplish that means Gerindra can become a political force supported by the people. “In the future, Gerindra will grow because of the support and strong base of its supporters and not because of a facade beautifully wrapped as reality but hollow inside. Gerindra will shy away from building an image reflecting a power it doesn’t have, “ explained Muzani, who also serves as the Chairman of the Gerindra faction in the House.
“We don’t want to build a political party that seems powerful, but lacks the support of the people, just for the sake of image-building. Therefore, we should not be easily satisfied feeling like good people. We must strive to be good people. Although the risks of failure are haunting time and again,
we must keep the spirit to get back on our feet and start doing good,” concluded Muzani. (Dessy Aipipidely)
